How to Set Default Operating System

If you have more than one operating system installed on your computer then at the boot screen you get the choice of selecting the operating system. On computers having Windows XP and Vista installed, by default Vista is selected automatically if you do not choose XP, since Vista is the next generation OS. In this there is hardly anything to do. But if you have any other OS along with XP then you can set your default operating system. The default operating system is the one which is highlighted at boot screen, and if you do not press any key, this OS is the one which will be automatically loaded. So to set your default operating system.

Step 1- In XP right click on My Computer and click Properties

Step 2- On the 'Advanced TAb' under start up and recovery, click 'Setting'।

Step 3-Under 'System Start Up', in the 'Default Operating System' list, click the OS that you want to start when you turn on or restart your computer।

Step 4- Select the 'Time to display list of OS' check box, and then select the number of seconds for which you want the list to be displayed before the default OS is booted. The default time is 30 seconds.
